3 Things to Know about Fiat Spare Parts Before You Buy a Fiat

When you look at the possibility of buying a Fiat, the last thing you probably think of are spare parts. The truth is, some cars like the Fiat have spare parts that are harder to find than more commonly manufactured vehicles. With that in mind, there are a few things you need to know about buying or finding Fiat spare parts after your new Fiat purchase.

1. Dealer Doesn't Mean Easier

The first thing you need to know about finding or buying Fiat spare parts when you need them is that going to the dealer is not always a route to finding parts easily. In fact, depending on where the dealership is located, parts may take longer to arrive. You also may be dealing with an issue that the make and model of your Fiat make the part you need increasingly harder to find. Though the dealer can order directly from Fiat and get you the part, it doesn't mean they will get it faster or cheaper and easier than other options.

2. Order Original Parts Early

Many Fiat owners will order certain parts they know will be hard to find for their make or model. They may also order original parts to put away with other Fiat spare parts for their particular make and model. The benefit of doing this yourself is that you know ahead of a repair issue that you have what you need. You can simply give the part or parts to your mechanica and have the repair get started on the right foot. The other benefit to ordering original fiat spare parts before you need them is to save time in finding the part, having to wait if the part is out of stock and having to wait on shipping times for the part.

3. Seller Refurbished and Manufacturer Refurbished

In you search for Fiat spare parts, you may run across refurbished spare parts. These are fine to use, but you should be aware of the difference between seller and manufacturer refurbished. Seller refurbished means that the seller, who may or may not have a mechanics license, rebuilt and refurbished the part to resell it. The manufacturer refurbished means the part was sent to the manufacturer and was refurbished directly by Fiat.

If you are ready to buy a Fiat and start building your spare parts, consider asking your dealership what parts are difficult to come by and which parts take the longest to ship. This will give you a good idea of which Fiat spare parts to start with.
